We are continuing to investigate and troubleshoot issues with on-campus network connectivity after yesterday's upgrade. You may experience issues connecting to the wireless network or staying connected. This should not affect off-campus access to resources such as the VPN, Jenzabar, The Portal, etc.
LITS will continue working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible and will provide an update when more information is available or when the issues have been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

On Thursday, January 14th, LITS will be performing a required upgrade of the wireless controller for our campus. The upgrade will begin approximately at 8:00 am and is expected to last throughout the entire day.
During the upgrade, all campus wireless network connectivity will be inaccessible. Students on campus will be unable to access the Internet or services such as Gmail and Apporto from any device that does not have a wired network connection through an ethernet cable OR has a cellular data plan. Faculty and staff who are on campus will be unable to access the Internet using BCNet and BCGuest unless they have a wired connection for their computer.
If you are off-campus, this wireless shut down WILL NOT affect you. You will still be able to access the VPN, BCShares network drives, Moodle, the Portal, and Jenzabar. You will also continue to have access to cloud-based services such as Gmail or Google Drive, Office 365, and Apporto.
For students, faculty, or staff who are on campus and do not have access to a wired computer, the library will be open from 9:00am to 4:00pm and has a limited number of wired desktop computers that can be used.
LITS will send another reminder of this upgrade on January 13th, as well as when work begins on January 14th. A message will also be sent when the work is complete and when services are restored.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this outage will cause and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
